Mackenzie loves to do things with her hands and loves to do crafty things. So, when she found out that Grandma would be making little bags to put school supplies in for Lutheran World Relief School Kits, she was eager to help.
Grandma showed Mackenzie how to sew, with the sewing machine, straight stitches. Mackenzie was a little timid at first, but once she got the hang of it she was good.
I love this picture – she was deep in thought with her tongue sticking out.
Mackenzie wanted to show off one of her first handles she stitched for the bags. She was so excited to help Grandma – she stitched all the handles for the 10 bags. Then Grandma sewed the bigger part of the bag and attached the handles. Once the bag was complete, Mackenzie filled it with the supplies needed. The stuffed bags went to New Hope in Adamsville where they will send them off to LWR for distribution.
