Well, last night we thought about going out for a celebratory dinner as Jay had his approval interview. As you all know, he is in his senior year of seminary and along with receiving his Masters of Divinity there is a process through the ELCA which includes the final step of receiving the "approval" for ordination. So yesterday he had his approval interview and received "approval" for ordination. YEAH!! One more hurdle cleared. Although, I never had any doubts as he is truly comfortable in this call and he does a wonderful job in parish ministry. (I know I have a bias opinion).

Well, with us pinching pennies we figured we could go out and take advantage of a restaurants promotion of 2 meals for $12.99 and kids meals for $2 so we could go out to eat and not break the bank. Well, the kids weren't too thrilled about that restaurant, as we've gone there once a month the last two months. Plus the weather was not all that pleasant - sleet, rain, and cold. So we opted to stay in and have breakfast for dinner.

As Jay and I started preparing dinner, we had turkey maple sausage, pork maple sausage, bacon, french toast, and Micky Mouse waffles, Mackenzie came into the kitchen and asked if she could help.
Mackenzie helps Jay put together the mix for the french toast.
Working hard . . . after she was done whipping the eggs, she stirred together the waffle batter. Then she helped cook the waffles in the maker - of course she added chocolate chips.
So we stayed in and had a delicious meal. However, Jay and I are going to go out and celebrate this latest mile stone of our journey.
