Planting flowers

Well, my in-laws' yard always looks so nice in the summer because of all the work they do and all the flowers they plant. I tell you what, it is way too much work for me, but they seem to enjoy planting and weeding those multiple flower beds.

So on Saturday they had a lot of work to do and they started by 9:45 a.m. and didn't stop till almost 9:00 p.m. They planted and mulched as many of the beds in the yard as they could get done. We had been out earlier in the day, but in the evening our little planter, Mackenzie, got out their and helped Grandma & Grandpa. I have no idea how many flowers they have planted, and their not done yet, but I do know they on Saturday they had gone through two full truck loads of black mulch and they think it will take at least two more to finish the beds.

While Zack plays on his scooter, he's not a big fan of manual labor or hard work either, Grandpa Doug unloads the rest of the mulch from the second load of mulch.

Here you see Mackenzie helping Grandma Karen. Grandma would dig the hole and then Mackenzie would put in potting soil and fertilizer before Grandma would plant the flower. After the flower was planted, Mackenzie would water it.

These are just a few of the flowers they planted around the yard . . .
